We wish to introduce Express Optimum Haul Road Design Package “software” to you. Express is the complete Optimum Haul Road Design Package for use within the mining or construction industries.
In 1965 Dr. Lerches and Dr Grossmann developed a pit optimisation system (the LG) using a mathematical concept called Graph Theory. This system has become the basis of many pit optimisers available today (eg. Whittle, MineMap, and others).
Twenty years later, Graph Search Theory was developed to accommodate the massive data sets required by expert systems for automated decision making.
Now, ten years further on, the Optimum Planit research team, lead by Dr Tim Gill with the aid of Industry, developed Dynamic Graph Search Theory to accommodate dynamically changing, massive data sets to bring you Express Design.
The Benefits of Express
Express is a true optimiser that will give you the ultimate cost benefit solution to your haul road requirements, from the bottom of the pit to the top. Substantial cost savings are therefore obtainable, with the system providing the optimum road reserve as a CAD file, and a grided pit surface for contouring and volumes.
Express will automatically provide an optimum cost based solution, or interactively provide the best solution according to your design constraints. For example, you can stop the road entering certain parts of the pit, or force it to exit at preferred locations and from a preferred direction. The system also allows you to step back through lesser cost effective solutions, thus providing sensitivity analysis on the road design.
Express Haul Road Optimisation
Express reads Whittle 4D/4X input files, which allows it to interface to most mine planning packages. It is written using the latest programming techniques with C++ to provide a PC based program running under Microsoft Windows operating systems. Online documentation provides easy to follow guidelines on the use of Express.
